18 May 2019 – Annual inter-Livery Regatta, Cowes 2019 – More Info >
The highlight of the Club’s Programme of Events is the Annual inter-Livery Regatta at Cowes where entrants will battle it out for the Lord Mayor’s Cup. It is traditionally held the weekend before the final Bank Holiday weekend of May. The format is for members and crews to meet informally at one of the local Club houses for a buffet supper on the Friday evening with the action taking place on the Saturday. There are two races, the first commencing after a dockside briefing on the Saturday morning and a second race commencing in the early afternoon. The Island Sailing Club runs the races and also offers members and guests facilities to watch from their terrace. The Regatta week-end concludes on the Saturday evening with a Presentation Dinner at the Royal Yacht Squadron. This weekend is huge fun and immensely popular so booking early is encouraged.

Each year the Royal Lymington Yacht Club hosts an Interclub Challenge for 3-boat Lymington River Scow Teams, and the City Livery Yacht Club, as one of six teams, takes part. The format is usually three races on the Saturday afternoon with the best aggregate team score winning.
This year the format for the week-end will be slightly different as we are introducing a Pursuit event on the Friday from the Solent to the Royal Lymington Yacht Club arriving in good time to participate in the Scows Regatta on the Saturday. As in previous years there will be an informal supper on the Friday evening in the River Room of the Lymington Clubhouse and dinner on the Saturday night, also in the Clubhouse. For those not participating in the competition, a spectator boat is provided.
