The weeks programme is detailed below.


  1. All tides given below are for Portsmouth. Skippers should check to determine actual tide and height for each destination.
  2. Note that entry to Island Harbour, the Beaulieu River and Bembridge all have depth restrictions, which will particularly affect deep keel boats. Careful entry timing is therefore important.
  3. Skippers are responsible for paying marina dues at each destination.
  4. We have not included the cost of any drinks with meals.

Monday 11th July

Fleet gathers at Island Harbour Marina upstream of Cowes on the River Marina (HW 0950/4.2m Springs -4). This is the first visit by the Club and requires entry via a lock. The lock will be on free flow (ie both gates open) for about HW-1 to +1. At other times entry is fairly simple but ensure you remain in the buoyed channel. Detailed instructions are on the website ( Boats 40ft and larger should contact the marina well in advance to discuss entry and berthing; any skipper unsure about entry should also contact the marina. (Phone:01983 539994). If unsure about berthing at the marina, berth at the Folly and either get the water taxi or walk to the marina (about 15 minutes).

Dinner at the Breeze Restaurant and individuals to pay on the night. Choice of 2 course (£21.95) or 3 course (£29.95) menu with a wide choice of dishes.

  Tuesday 12th July

To Yarmouth harbour. (HW 1048/4,4m Springs -3) As it is mid-week we have been assured there will be plenty of space but skippers are advised to contact the harbour in advance to guarantee a berth. (Phone:01983 760321). Ensure you mention the CLYC cruise to obtain a discount.

Dinner at Royal Solent Yacht Club. £30 per head payable in advance with booking fee. Menu as follow:

Smoked salmon & Dill pate with toasted Ciabatta (1)


Sun Blushed tomato & Pesto Tartlet (2)


Braised Feather Blade Steak with mushroom, rosemary & red wine jus (1)


Oven Baked Sea Bream with Mediterranean Vegetables (2)


Mixed Berry Compote & Vanilla Ice Cream (1)


Double Chocolate Profiteroles (2)

Wednesday 13th July

Beaulieu River, Royal Southampton Yacht Club, Gins Farm. (HW 1143/4.6 Springs -2). There are a limited number of pontoon berths alongside the club. Additional berthing to buoys under direction of Beaulieu HM (Beaulieu River Radio: Ch 68 Phone: 02380 223352). The R Southampton have stated a boatman will be available to ferry people to the Club (Sea Echo Ch77).

The clubhouse is usually closed on Wednesdays, but they have agreed to open for us and will provide a simple 3 course supper at a cost of £30 per head payable in advance with booking fee. Menu details, with a vegetarian choice, will be advised nearer to the date.

Thursday 14th July

Bembridge Duver Marina (HW1236/4.7m Springs -1). Skippers should contact the marina a minimum of 2 weeks in advance to confirm boat details quoting Rally Code CL650 ( Berthing master Jack Miskin. The harbour website has detailed instructions as to harbour entry.

Following last year’s successful barbeque, we are planning another one. Bring your own barbeque delights and drinks. The marina will provide 2 gas barbeques and a marquee at a cost of £90 which will be divided equally amongst those attending and collected on the day.

Friday 15th July

Fleet disperses (HW1339/4.8m Springs) for home ports or to continue cruising.

There may be an opportunity to stop for lunch at Seaview Yacht Club if there is sufficient interest. This will be discussed with participants nearer to the date.
