Commodore’s Message

I am very honoured to have been elected Commodore of the City Livery Yacht Club which is open to all members of the Livery of the City of London and to members of the Guild of Freemen of the City.  We have an eclectic mix of members with varied life experiences who share one thing in common – a love of all things nautical. Many of our members enjoy sailing, others motor boating and some just talking about and sharing views on maritime subjects.

There is an active programme of events both on and off the water.  Our sailing season starts in May with the Annual Regatta in Cowes where crews from Livery Companies compete for the Lord Mayor’s Cup.  During the summer we have cruises in company for boats based on the South Coast and, for members whose interest is in Inland waters, events on the Thames.  In addition to social events associated with our boating programme, each year we have two formal dinners at venues ranging from Livery Halls to Service Clubs in central London plus one at the Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.

We are privileged to have as our Club Admiral Commodore Anthony Morrow RN.  The Club is managed by a Committee of members ably supported by our Club Secretary, Mrs Nadine Cowell.

We welcome new members and if you decide to join us you would be assured of a warm welcome.  If you are interested in the City Livery Yacht Club do peruse the rest of the website and for further information, contact the secretary clubsec@clyc.co.uk. A membership application form can be found in the Membership Info section of this website.
